The DeWitt County Republican Party is an official arm of the
Republican Party of Texas and operates according to Texas Election
Code governing political parties and under the Rules of the Republican
Party of Texas.
The County Chairman, a Treasurer and other officers, including the
Precinct Chairmen make up the Executive Committee. Election Judges
and Alternates are appointed by the Executive Committee. Together,
the members of the committee work toward the goal of promoting a
conservative philosophy of government which attempts to preserve
the principles set forth by the U. S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
We support local, state, and national candidates who promote this
philosophy.
A County Convention is convened following the Primary/Runoff
Elections in even-numbered years. Delegates and Alternates are
nominated by the Executive Committee and attend the State
Convention which is held in June following the County Convention.
Development of the Party Platform begins at the local county
convention.
