Election night returns are as follows:
DeWitt County went for McCain Palin by a
whopping margin 74% to 26 percent.
Hinojosa retains his seat in Congress,
although Zamora wins here. John Oliver
unseats Gilbert Pargmann in a very close
race.
55% of registered voters (6710 of
12,184) turned out to vote. 49% of them
cast straight party ballots. 68% of the
straight party ballots were cast for the
Republican Party. By looking at the falloff
from president to the Senate race, it
appears that only 207 votes were strictly
cast for the presidential contest.
