Re-elect Peggy Mayer, DeWitt County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1
What an honor it has been to serve you, the people, as Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1 for the past
seven years. It would be my honor to continue to serve the people of DeWitt County by assuring that this
court continues to be a court for the people; a court that dispenses justice in a fair and impartial manner to
all who come before it. I will continue to execute the duties of this office by employing the 3 E's:
Enthusiasm, Energy, and Empathy. On a daily basis, this job requires an enthusiasm and eagerness in
what individuals have to say; energy and strength to handle various situations that may arise; and requires
a level of empathy in order to take on the viewpoint of another person, for a moment to set aside your own
opinions.
My continued dedication to education has been important to understanding the growing responsibilities of
this office and an understanding of all important issues that come before the court. I have completed 400
hours of continuing education, including 240 hours of 1 day seminars. In 2007, I was inducted into the
College of Justice Court Judges Association as a charter member. This association recognizes the
endeavors of those justices who choose to advance their judicial education over and above the state
mandated requirements. During the last legislation update, I participated as a representative for all JP's
across the state of Texas in Austin to help defeat two bills that could have eventually required all JP's to be
licensed attorneys.
If re-elected, I will continue to serve you, the citizens of DeWitt County, with my open door policy by
addressing your needs, needs of the juvenile authority, and the school system needs by addressing issues
affecting our children. With your help, I will continue to maintain the high standards of judicial and personal
conduct that this position demands. Let's keep a hard working judge working hard for you.

Peggy Mayer Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1 DeWitt County
